The Community Transport Association of Ireland (CTAI) is the representative body for the small, but developing, community transport sector in the Republic of Ireland. The CTAI is a company limited by guarantee with chartible status. The CTAI was incorporated on 25th June 2001.

In 2005 the Community Transport Association of Ireland and the Community Transport Association UK joined together to manage the Community Transport Advice & Information Service (CTAIS), a cross border advice and information project.

The CTAI was also sussessful when it applied to The Wheel for funding under the Training Links Programme. This funding enabled the CTAI in conjunction with the CTAIS to implement a high quaility training program during 2006 and 2007.

In 2007 funding for research into the issues and problems of providing local cross border public transport and the needs of local communities along the border for such services was approved the Irish Central Border Area Network
